Bishop will be captain for Team QMJHL at the Canada Russia Series

Boucherville, QC – The Quebec Major Junior Hockey League, in association with the Canadian Hockey League, have announced that Cape Breton Screaming Eagles’ forward Clark Bishop will serve as captain for Team QMJHL in the 2015 CHL Canada Russia Series.

In addition, the QMJHL announced that Anthony Beauvillier (Shawinigan Cataractes), Olivier Leblanc (Cape Breton Screaming Eagles) and Francis Perron (Rouyn-Noranda Huskies) will serve as alternate captains for Team QMJHL.

Bishop will wear the ‘C’ as the 2015 CHL Canada Russia Series kicks off its QMJHL leg at the Iamgold Arena in Rouyn-Noranda on Tuesday November 17th. Drafted in the fifth round, 127th overall, of the 2015 NHL Draft by the Carolina Hurricanes, Bishop has racked up 19 points (8g-11a) in 21 games so far this season. This will be his first appearance at the event.

The first round draft pick of the New York Islanders, Anthony Beauvillier, will make his second appearance while Oliver Leblanc (Columbue Blue Jackets) and Francis Perron (Ottawa Senators) will make their first appearance at the event.

The 2015 Canada Russia series is supported by CHL associate sponsors, BMO Bank of Montreal, Cooper Tire, autoTRADER.ca and Sherwin-Williams.  All games will be broadcast nationally on Sportsnet and TVA Sports.
