Noel and Myers added to Team QMJHL

Boucherville, QC – The Quebec Major Junior Hockey League announced Tuesday that forward Nathan Noel of the Saint John Sea Dogs and defenceman Philippe Myers of the Rouyn-Noranda Huskies have been added to the Team QMJHL roster for the 2015 CHL Canada Russia Series.

Noel, an 18-year old native of St. John’s, NL, is playing in his third QMJHL season with the Sea Dogs. In 18 games so far this season he has four goals, nine assists and 13 points. Noel was originally Saint John’s first round, third overall selection in the 2013 QMJHL Draft.

Myers, an 18-year old native of Moncton, NB, is currently in his third QMJHL season with the Huskies. The 6’4″, 205Ib. defenceman was signed to a three-year, entry-level NHL contract by the Philadelphia Flyers in September. In 22 games this season, Myers has eight goals, nine assists and 17 points along with a plus/minus rating of plus-18.

Both players will compete in Game 5 of the CHL Canada Russia Series on Tuesday in Rouyn-Noranda before suiting up in Thursday’s Game 6 in Halifax. They replace injured defencemen Alexandre Carrier (Gatineau Olympiques) and Jeremy Roy (Sherbrooke Phoenix) as well as forward Joey Ratelle (Drummondville Voltigeurs) on the QMJHL roster.

Game 1 – Monday, November 9 at Kelowna, BC
     Team WHL 7 vs. Team Russia 3 – Game Summary
Game 2 – Tuesday, November 10 at Kamloops, BC
     Team WHL 4 vs. Team Russia 2 – Game Summary
Game 3 – Thursday, November 12 at Owen Sound, ON
     Team OHL 3 vs. Team Russia 0 – Game Summary
Game 4 – Monday, November 16 at Windsor, ON
     Team OHL 2 vs. Team Russia 1 – Game Summary
Game 5 – Tuesday, November 17 at Rouyn-Noranda, QC
     Russia @ QMJHL, 7 p.m. ET / 4 p.m. PT (Sportsnet East, Ontario and Pacific, TVA Sports 2)
Game 6 – Thursday, November 19 at Halifax, NS
     QMJHL @ Russia, 7 p.m. ET / 4 p.m. P T (Sportsnet 360, TVA Sports 2)
